HBD Update: College, Co-ops, and Liberty's Kids
August 06, 2008

Here we are in the middle of the summer, and perhaps still breathing sighs of relief that the school year has ended. Tests and testing may be the farthest thing from the minds of both parents and teens, but actually, this is a good time to take a look at College Admissions Testing. While most of us are not actually schooling, we can explore the characteristics of the commonly-used tests, the preparation recommended before testing, and the optimum schedule for testing during high school. Are you wondering about college admission testing for your homeschool high school student? You're not alone. For more on college admissions testing, check out Deb Erbach’s series of articles beginning here.

The families of St. Dominic Savio Group School have graciously written about their experience starting a “co-op” or “group school” as they call it. I know many of the families involved in this group school, and they are very well organized and successful in their endeavors. If you are interested in starting something similar in your area, you can read their story here.

Did you know Liberty’s Kids is finally being offered at a reasonable price? If you don’t know about Liberty’s Kids, or want to know where to order it, you can get more information on this page.
