HBD Update: Thanksgiving, overcommitment, and testing
November 05, 2008

"How wonderful it would be if we could help our children and grandchildren to learn thanksgiving at an early age.

Thanksgiving opens the doors. It changes a child's personality. A child is resentful, negative—or thankful.

Thankful children want to give, they radiate happiness, they draw people."
- Sir John Templeton

Aren’t you glad you have the chance to cultivate thanksgiving in your children all year long?

With the holiday season quickly approaching, many people (not just homeschoolers) find themselves overcommitted. It’s easy to do. Things creep into your schedule and before you know it, you’re swamped, stressed and frustrated. I let this happen at the end of our last school year, so I made a plan to help avoid the situation this year. So far, it’s working. Click this link for my tips on avoiding overcommitment.

Speaking of the holidays, if you do online shopping with Amazon or Christian Book Distributors, please consider using the HBD shop links to these sites. Click here for a direct link to the HBD shopping page.

In response to one reader’s question, Deb Erbach Burger has added more insightful information on SAT and ACT college admission testing. Click here to find out if you should take the SAT, the ACT, or both.
