Critical Thinking Games

Play To Win Chess

Introduce young children to the game of chess with this set that includes a chessboard, sixteen each of black and white playing pieces, plus an educational book. Illustrations, charts and diagrams offer a comprehensive guide to chess, as well its history, role of pieces, and how to play! 72 pages, softcover. Ages 9-12.

Blokus

Develops logic and spatial perception while kids learn to be tactical. Ages 5+

Language Arts Games

Cooking Up Sentences! A Parts of Speech Game

Invite your students to practice parts of speech by stirring up some tasty recipes! "Bake" the perfect sentence by correctly identifying its "ingredients" as you move through the kitchen. The first chef to finish his dish wins! Two to four players, ages 7 to 11.

Reading Riddles Maze Game

Kids improve their reading comprehension skills without even realizing it! Players read a riddle and move across game board maze to collect the tile with the riddle's answer. The first player to collect three tiles wins. Maze pieces, which can be rearranged, allow for multiple ways to reach the answer tiles. Two levels for advanced play. For 2-4 players. Grades 1+

Math Games

Presto Change-O

Learn how to make change, save money and spend it wisely. One of our favorite educational board games for younger children. Ages 8+, but my children played much earlier with help.

Totally Tut Math Operations Game

Reach the top of the pyramid on this colorful Egyptian-theme game board by combining basic math operations skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) with order of operations practice. Players trek their way across the rows of the pyramid by using numeral and operation triangles to create and solve math problems! But beware, your opponents can steal or swap your number triangles completing their pyramids first! For 2-4 players. Ages 6-9.

Science Games

SomeBody: The Human Anatomy Game

Snapshots Across America Game

The first to present the goods to the King in his throneroom wins! Beautiful cards with photos and art reproductions make this a fun and wonderfully educational board game for kids ages 9 and up. 2-4 players.
