Homeschool Language ArtsTeaching Spelling, Reading, Writing and GrammarHomeschool language arts includes reading, spelling, literature, writing and grammar. In elementary schools, these are usually taught separately. In high school, they usually come under an "umbrella" called "English". If you homeschool, you can find separate curriculum for each area or a curriculum teaches everything together. As a homechool parent, language arts and math are the two subjects we concentrate on most during our "school" day. I think that if kids can learn to communicate effectively (language arts) and understand math concepts well enough for their chosen life path (college or career) the rest is a bonus that will enrich their lives.
