Should I Homeschool My Child?Tough Questions to Ask YourselfThe decision to homeschool my child was a big one for me as I'm sure it is for you. Being willing to ask and honestly answer tough homeschool questions will help you decide if home education is right for your family. Homeschooling isn't easy and it isn't for everyone. If you are not truly committed, it's easy to get frustrated and give up. Here are some things to consider before you decide:
Am I homeschooling to achieve a goal or to avoid something? What are my strengths? How can I use these to my advantage in my homeschool? What are my weaknesses? How can I compensate for these in my homeschool? What aspects of homeschooling do I worry about most? Can I gain the necessary skills to succeed? How? Can I stand up to criticism? Do I have support? Am I willing to sacrifice the necessary time, energy, and money to homeschool? After you have researched and honestly addressed these issues (as well as the others that were covered in this site) you should have a clear indication of homeschooling's suitability to your family.
