Homeschooling Information

Contact Me Form and About Me

Are you looking for homeschooling information that I haven't covered yet in this website? Do you have comments or suggestions? I'd love to hear from you!

This whole world of website building is new to me, so I would love for you to contact me with comments and suggestions to help me as I build it. If you have homeschool questions, I'll do my best to help you find the answers.

I am adding new pages all the time, so make sure you sign up for my newsletter which I hope to send out 4 times a year. Signing up means you won't miss out on new additions to the site if you forget to check back. (I know homeschoolers are BUSY!) Don't worry about getting "spammed" if you sign up with me, I won't be filling your inbox and I don't share my addresses with anyone.

Thanks for taking the time submit your homeschool questions and comments.

Make sure you add jill@homeschool-by-design.com to your whitelist. If you don't hear back from me, check your junk mail folder and make sure I'm whitelisted, then resubmit.

I appreciate your feedback!

About Me

Hi! Glad you stopped by. My name is Jill. I am a homeschooling mother of two - yes, just two - and a certified teacher who taught in the public schools for six years. My oldest child attended public school for just over two years and my youngest attended for almost three months. This experience has provided a unique perspective on education. I’ve seen traditional schools and home schools from several different vantage points.

You might say being a teacher made it easier for me to start my homeschool. I would say it isn’t EASY for anyone. Sure, understanding the education “buzz words” and technical language was helpful, but I still had to make a plan for MY children. Parents who are not trained educators are “free” to make decisions based on what is best for their children rather than constantly second guessing decisions because it doesn’t line up with the training they received.

I am blessed to live in an area with several wonderful support groups and plenty of veteran home educators. These wonderful women are more than willing to share their wisdom and experience with others (including me.) :-) I am also blessed to have two wonderful sisters-in-law who teach at home in another state. I love sharing my discoveries and experience with them. When I do, they inevitably tell me to "Write that down!" So here I am writing it down, for them AND for you. I hope that you find the information and encouragement you are looking for!
