The Decision to Start HomeschoolingMe, Homeschool? You've got to be kidding!So, the thought of homeschooling has crossed your mind...but you still have alot of questions. The homeschooling vs. public schooling decision is a breeze for some and an agonizing ordeal
for others. There are so many questions! You want to make the RIGHT choice because it is YOUR child's future.
Believe it or not, the public education system in the United States is a relatively new institution. For centuries, children were educated at home or by private tutors. Even though some of the greatest minds in history never set foot in a "classroom", it is hard for us to imagine life without traditional schools. Both of my children were enrolled in public school, but deep down I knew it was not providing the kind of educational experience I wanted for them. But homeschool? Me? You've got to be kidding! Even me, a certified teacher, had a myriad of issues that needed to be addressed before I did something "drastic." Just like you I felt compelled to answer many important questions before committing the time and effort toward homeschooling.
