Pacific IslandsA Free Virtual Field TripHave you ever wanted to travel to the Pacific Islands? These 20,000 to 30,000 islands are sometimes collectively called Oceania. There are three types of islands in the Pacific: Melanesia means "black islands", Micronesia means "tiny islands", Polynesia means "many islands". Nature and culture have been well preserved on these islands. There is a pleasant tropical climate, beautiful and diverse landscapes, and rich local cultures. This virtual field trip has stops on the Cook Islands, Easter Island, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, the Hawaiian Islands, the Marshall Islands, Samoa/American Samoa, the Solomon Islands, and Tonga. The guide includes links that provide over 1 1/2 hours total time of Pacific Islands video including the landscape and culture, plus 6 non-video bonus links. If you are a Sonlight Curriculum Core 5 user, this field trip is a great supplement to the Eastern Hemisphere Explorer! Use the contact form to let me know what you think. I'll be adding new countries soon, and HBD e-zine subscribers will be notified FIRST when a new trip is released! So, tell your friends to sign up for HBD updates. Why not send them a link to this page right now? The best part about the virtual field trips, is right now they are all free! Yes, that's right, FREE! All I ask it that you continue to visit Homeschool-By-Design, share the link with your friends, and visit our shopping page if you ever shop online. Check out the other countries that are available now! Click here for more virtual field trips. Leave the Pacific Islands travel virtual field trip page and return to the HBD Home page |
