Reading Made Easy

I adored this program. It's scripted, it's easy, it's gentle and sweet... but my son HATED it. I think it would probably work well for an attentive and calm mannered child, but for my active child, it just wasn't a good match at all.

The lessons are short and really easy to pick up and go with (if you have index cards handy). We did find that it progressed a little too quickly for a struggling reader. We were able to get around that by taking turns with paragraphs. I recommend getting a spiral binding on this paperback book, the binding will not hold up to constant use, and the spiral binding really makes it feel less bulky and uncomfortable in your lap (these lessons are perfect for snuggling up on the couch and learning together).

As I mentioned, I loved this program and I wanted it to work, but if you have an active child, it's probably best avoided.
